Items sent via Courier must comply with all laws and regulations and with Uber policies. Sending illegal, unsafe, or other prohibited items listed on this page is strictly prohibited.
If you send an item in violation of the law or any of our policies, including those listed on this page, we will take corrective actions, as appropriate, including but not limited to, immediately suspending or terminating your account. Sending illegal or unsafe products can also lead to legal action, including civil and criminal penalties.
Uber encourages you to report items that violate Uber policies or applicable law by contacting us. We will investigate each report thoroughly and take appropriate action.
The following items are prohibited from Courier package delivery:
- People and animals.
- Illegal items.
- Weapons (e.g., firearms, knives, ammunition, and their parts).
- Drugs and controlled substances, including:
- Alcohol.
- Pharmaceutical products, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, or supplements.
- Herbal controlled substances and psychedelics (e.g., Kava, Kratom, Psilocybin Mushrooms).
- Cannabis and Cannabis accessories even where legal (including recreational cannabis, loose flower, pre-roll, oil, edibles, THC/Hash oil, topicals, spray, rolling papers, pipes/bongs, vaporizers).
- High-risk drugs (criminally scheduled, including narcotics, Delta-8 goods, controlled substances, and certain prescription drugs).
- Pseudo-pharmaceutical and pseudo-science (nutraceuticals, pseudo-pharmaceuticals, and other products which make unreasonable health claims not approved or verified by the applicable regulatory body).
- Vaping products (e.g., vaping pens, vaping cartridges).
- Tobacco and tobacco accessories (e.g., cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, hookah, chewing tobacco, ZYN products, pipes).
- Nicotine replacement products (e.g., Zonnic).
- Highly perishable food or beverages (e.g., raw meat or dairy products).
- Money, gift cards, or transferable securities (e.g., currency exchange, rare coins, gold, remittance transfer).
- Lottery and gaming (e.g., scratch tickets, instant games).
- Dangerous or hazardous items, including:
- Explosives.
- Fireworks.
- Items that are poisonous or flammable (e.g., paints or adhesives containing a flammable liquid).
- Aerosols (only small quantities typical of household use are allowed, e.g., personal care items, cooking spray, coatings/paint, cleaning agents, insecticides, AA batteries).
- Products identified as a hazardous product under the Hazardous Products Act, RSC 1985, c H-3 and regulations thereunder including the Hazardous Products Regulations, SOR/2015-17.
- Nuclear substances.
- Products, substances or organisms identified as dangerous goods under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992, SC 1992, c 34 or identified as hazardous waste or hazardous recyclable material under the Export and Import of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations, SOR/2005-149 or Interprovincial Movement of Hazardous Waste Regulations, SOR/2002-301; hazardous waste (e.g., hypodermic needles).
- Infectious substances.
- Body parts or medical waste.
- Stolen goods.
- Fragile items (e.g., valuable glassware that can be easily broken in transit).
- Pornography (sexually explicit or exploitative materials).
- Animals (e.g., pets, livestock, regulated species, or animal parts, bloods, or fluids).
- Endangered species (any species or part thereof listed as ‘Vulnerable’ or higher on the IUCN Red List; any species listed in the public registry under the Species at Risk Act, SC 2002, c 29. E.g. shark fin soup, elephant ivory, etc.).
- Counterfeit goods.
- Medical equipment (e.g., needles or any other injectables) (basic items like face masks, wheelchair equipment are not restricted).
- Any items for which you do not have permission to deliver.
- Any items reasonably likely to be perceived by the recipient as threatening or harassing, or otherwise contravening the Community Guidelines.
The above list of prohibited items is not exhaustive. Uber retains the discretion to prohibit additional items that are not on the above list.
