When you request a ride for someone, they’ll receive either:
Text messages to their mobile phone number with information about the driver and vehicle coming to pick them up (for immediate/scheduled rides) or instructions on how to request the trip (for flexible rides)
An automated call (if selected) to their mobile or landline phone number with information about the driver and vehicle coming to pick them up
They may also receive Uber app notifications with the ability to track the ride in the app and see information about the driver and vehicle coming to pick them up.
Make sure you have the correct phone number entered for your riders, since all communications are sent via phone. If you are using Uber Central and the rider has an Uber account with the same phone number, they can view details of the trip using the Uber app.
If the rider doesn’t have a mobile phone, please make sure to communicate all trip information to them or set up automated calling for the ride. If you see the rider in person, we recommend filling out instruction cards for them.
