Connecting your Tesla to the Driver app

Ensure you’re using the latest version of the app. You can update the app from the App Store.

Select your electric vehicle as your primary vehicle:

  • Open the app
  • Navigate to Menu > Account > Vehicles
  • Choose your electric vehicle as the primary vehicle

Entry points to connect your vehicle:

  • Managed Vehicles: Select the desired vehicle from the page
  • Vehicle Hub: From the home screen, go to Menu > Account > Vehicles and select your electric vehicle
  • Lightning Bolt Widget: On the map, tap the lightning bolt widget, then tap the “Say goodbye to range anxiety” banner

Connect your vehicle:

  • Tap “Next” at the bottom of the “Connect Your Electric Vehicles” page
  • Note: The “Connect your vehicle” screen appears only the first time you use an entry point. Future visits redirect you to the Manage Vehicles screen.

Log in to connect your vehicle:

  • If you have only one vehicle, you’ll go straight to the log-in screen after tapping “Next.”
  • If you have multiple vehicles, you’ll be sent to the Manage Vehicles screen. Tap the switch at the bottom to start the log-in process.
  • Teslas only: You can set up your virtual key during this process.

Finish the log-in process:

  • After logging in with your EV credentials, exit the app and restart it.

Check if your vehicle is connected:

  • From the home screen, go to Menu > Vehicles
  • “Connect Your Vehicle” should now show “Connected” in green
