What payment methods are available for Uber Taxi?
The payment methods accepted for Uber Taxi trips are credit card, debit card, cash, and Uber Cash.
Before confirming your trip request, select the payment method you prefer, as the Driver Partner cannot change it during the trip.
In Barbados and St. Lucia, Taxi trips cannot be paid in cash.

Why did I receive a taxi vehicle for my trip if I selected the UberX option?
In some cities and countries, taxi type vehicles may accept ridesharing trips, depending on the category of their vehicles (Uber X, Comfort, or Black). Thus, if the user requests a ridesharing trip, a taxi driver may be selected for that trip. This can help you to have a ride with a shorter waiting time.
If I requested an UberX trip and received a taxi, which fare should I pay? Do I need to pay the value displayed in the taximeter?
If you received a taxi type vehicle after requesting an UberX trip, your final fare will be the upfront price displayed in the Uber app. This will be an UberX trip for all intents and purposes, including the price.
