Uber Rent allows you to reserve a rental car directly within the Uber app. You can search for a variety of car rental options from major suppliers, like Avis, Enterprise and Sixt, to help get you the best prices, vehicle selection and rewards.

REQUIREMENTS TO RENT

Please be sure to check “Important information for this Rental” on the checkout or ‘view my reservation’ tab for specific information from your rental supplier. To reserve with Uber Rent, you must:

  • Be of the minimum age required by your rental partner (typically 21 years old - requirement varies by location)
  • Have a valid driver’s license with the same name stated in your booking.
  • Use a payment method that matches your identity.
  • Hold an eligible credit card with capacity to cover the vehicle excess.
  • UK licence holders may be required to present a DVLA check code
  • Some suppliers may require an additional form of ID or proof of address.

The minimum rental period is 1 day. You can book a car up to 2 hours before picking up your rental vehicle, depending on availability.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • Any Uber payment method including debit cards can be used to book your rental in app, but you must bring a credit card to the rental partner to pick up.
  • Extra fees may occur depending on the rental company’s minimum age, fuel and mileage policies. You can review the rental agreement when confirming your reservation.
  • If you are under 30 you may be charged a young driver surcharge charge at the Rental desk. Please be sure to check “Important information for this Rental” on the checkout screen for young driver policy specific to your car rental supplier.

Note that you may see an authorization hold on your account from the rental company. This is normal and will typically be voided within a few days.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please read your cancellation and no-show policy in the terms and conditions for your booking as they can vary depending on the car rental supplier and cancellation option you have chosen.

  • Cancellations and changes are not possible once the pick-up time has passed on the booking and no refunds will be given. This applies to all bookings.
  • If you cancel up to 48 hours (in some cases 24 hours) prior to your pick-up, in almost all circumstances you will be refunded in full.
  • If you cancel less than 48 hours (in some cases 24 hours) in advance, in almost all circumstances you’ll receive a full refund minus the administration charge outlined in your terms and conditions. Refunds are processed within 20 working days.
