Rental payments

We offer different payment options depending on the type of Car Rental Service you selected.

Vehicle pickup

If you’re picking the vehicle up yourself at the counter, you’ll have the option to either:

  • Select a reservation that allows you to pay in advance for the rental in your app
  • Select a reservation that you can pay for at the counter

In both cases, you’ll need to have a physical credit card with you when you pick up the vehicle. In most cases, you’ll be charged a security deposit at the time of pickup that is refunded within a few days of the rental’s completion once the car is verified to have no damage or cause for additional charge.

If you opt to pay for your reservation in the app, you’ll be able to select the desired payment method (including any Uber Cash you have) to the reservation. You’ll still need a physical credit card to pick up the vehicle regardless of the payment method you have pre-paid with. This is because the supplier needs a way to hold a deposit amount until the car is returned and verified to have no damage.

Vehicle delivery

For the vehicle delivery service, we’re only able to accept reservations that are paid for in advance with the app. When selecting this option, you’ll be prompted to enter your credit card information ahead of time. In most cases, your card will be charged the deposit at the time the driver picks up the vehicle on your behalf and the remainder of the reservation cost will be charged once the rental supplier receives the returned rental car. We’ll request your payment information only for your first reservation. For all future bookings, your payment method will be saved for convenience. If you wish to update or change this payment method, you’ll need to contact the supplier directly.
