3 - Complete your Background Check

You cannot start your Background check if all of your documents are not approved by Uber Eats.

Please be aware this background check can take at least 2 weeks to complete.

BACKGROUND CHECK INSTRUCTIONS

1. STARTING YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK

After your Profile Picture, Proof of ID, Bank Statement and Certificate of Motor Insurance (if you're driving a motorised vehicle) are approved by Uber Eats, we will send you a link to start your Background Check with our partner Sterling. Please know that this message can take up to 48h to be sent.

2. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED A LINK

The Background check link will be emailed to you by Sterling 48h after all of your uploaded documents are approved by Uber Eats.

If you have not received the email, please check your spam or junk folder.

If that's not the case, please contact the Uber support team at help.uber.com

3. SUBMITTING YOUR DETAILS TO STERLING

Now that you landed on the Sterling portal after clicking the unique link we sent you, the next step is to fill in the Sterling form and submit your details.

Add your personal details and upload a photo of your right to work documents on the Sterling Hub.

Please make sure to submit your application with the information as shown in your documents (e.g. Legal name and Date of Birth).

4. WHAT TO DO AFTER I FINISH MY REGISTRATION AT STERLING?

After you have followed all the steps and see the message "Thank you! Your information has been submitted" on the Sterling portal, you should be able to see the next steps there and this will change based on your location.

NORTHERN IRELAND: You will receive an email from Sterling with a barcode and next steps. Bring with you a copy of Sterling's email (in a mobile phone or printed) and the original version of the documents listed. To find the nearest Post Office, follow the below link and select 'CRB & ID Verification Service' from the 'Service Required' field.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND, ENGLAND, SCOTLAND AND WALES: Your application is being processed by Sterling and you just need to wait 5-10 days for the results. Once we have it, we will do some final checks on your account and you should be ready to deliver in no time.

5. PAYING FOR YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK
If you are asked to pay a fee when submitting your details to Sterling, this means that we are not covering the Background check costs in your city at the moment. You are required to complete a background check in order to go online and accept deliveries.
