Charging recommendations for EV drivers

Starting November 24, 2025, Uber is launching charging recommendations to help EV drivers in the US and Canada make better decisions about when and where to charge their vehicles. This feature is designed to reduce range anxiety and simplify the charging process by providing timely recommendations based on your battery data, the cost of charging nearby, and your upcoming earnings.

Who can use this feature

  • EV drivers who provide their battery data by connecting their vehicles or manually entering their remaining range.

How it works

  • You will receive charging recommendations directly in the Driver app.
  • A pop-up will appear with a contextual nudge when cheaper charging is available nearby, your earnings are about to increase, or your battery is low.
  • You can choose to see the recommendation by tapping “View chargers” or dismiss it by tapping “Not now.”
  • If you tap “navigate” on a recommendation, you won’t receive another recommendation for the next 2 hours to allow for new battery data to be updated.

Eligible vehicle manufacturers

  • US & Canada: Tesla, Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lincoln, RAM, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, INFINITI, LEXUS, MAZDA, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, RIVIAN, SUBARU, Volkswagen
  • US Only: Tesla

Additional benefits

  • Uber has negotiated heavy discounts with top charging point operators (CPOs) exclusively for drivers who use the Driver app to help bring down the cost of charging.

Important notes

  • Uber sources its data from third-party partners.
  • Be sure to confirm pricing and availability details at the charging station before starting to charge.

Troubleshooting

  • If you do not receive charging recommendations, ensure that your battery data is being provided to Uber through the “Connected vehicles” flow or manually entered.
  • If you see incorrect battery data, check your vehicle’s connection settings or try manually entering the data again.
  • If you have issues with the charging recommendation pop-up, try restarting the Driver app or your device.
  • If you need further assistance, contact Uber support through the app.
