How does Upfront Pricing work?

How does Upfront Pricing work?

You will see an upfront price on the offer card at the time of confirming a trip request. Upfront prices are impacted by numerous dynamic factors such as traffic patterns, distance and duration, and demand in the area The upfront price you see on the offer card does not include estimated tolls, surcharges, fees or tips as these are added at the end of the trip based on the actuals incurred. For more information, please see our website.

When will the upfront fare NOT apply?

Your upfront price will remain unchanged unless: The Rider updates their trip details (adding, removing or changing stops, or changing the destination). The actual distance is less than 30% of the estimated distance AND the actual duration is less than 30% of the estimated duration. The final destination is more than 1 mile away from the expected destination in a straight line (not distance travelled). A detour is taken and the trip is both further and slower than estimated. If the trip is at least 20% slower in duration than estimated AND 10 minutes slower in duration than estimated (e.g. due to traffic or long stops). You will see an estimated earnings range at the time of confirming some long-distance trip requests.

Changes to the mileage on the offer card

The time and distance might update when the trip begins compared to what you see on the offer card. This can happen sometimes if there is traffic or other changes in the area.

What is Mid-trip Repricing?

Should a rider modify their trip by adding a stop or destination, a revised “mid-trip price” is calculated. The rider must approve the updated price within the app to finalize the trip change. You’ll receive an in-app notification informing you of the trip modification. Be aware, the adjusted price for riders and your fare may be higher or lower than the initial upfront price displayed. If you don’t agree with a new mid-trip price, please let the rider know and end the trip.

What are multiple destinations?

When a rider requests a trip, they have the option of adding up to five destinations. You will see an identifier on the offer card screen if it is a multiple-destination trip. If a rider wants to change the destination or make an extra stop mid-trip, you should remind them to add the details in their app accordingly to ensure all final fares are accurate.
