How trips with tolls work

When your vehicle passes through a toll while on a trip with a rider, the toll amount (at the electronic toll rate) is automatically added to the rider’s price and paid to you. For dynamic tolls, you may receive an estimated amount. Because Uber cannot calculate live toll prices in real time, these estimates are based on historical averages and may differ from the actual amount paid.

Tolls are added to your earnings based on the tolls you pass through while on a trip; they are not included in your upfront fare (if applicable). The amount paid to you for toll reimbursement is not subject to a service fee.

Regardless of what method you choose to pay for the toll – whether through an electronic toll pass or cash – the amount added to the rider’s price and paid to you in most jurisdictions is based on the electronic toll rate, not the higher cash rate (if applicable). You can get an electronic toll pass for your vehicle to make for a smoother experience.

Please note that optional express lane tolls are not included. These are not included in the rider’s trip price or reimbursed to the driver.

Reporting missing or incorrect tolls

If you believe you are missing a toll reimbursement or that you were reimbursed the incorrect amount, you can contact support in-app to have the trip reviewed.Please note that you must contact support within 10 days of the trip date and provide a receipt showing the date, time and amount paid.
