Washington DC, VA, and MD Uber vehicle requirements

Vehicles used on the Uber platform must adhere to specific standards to ensure safety, compliance, and comfort for all users. Here are the essential criteria:

  • Doors and capacity: Must have 4 doors and be capable of transporting a minimum of 4 passengers.

  • Title condition: The vehicle’s title cannot be salvaged, reconstructed, or rebuilt.

  • Vehicle appearance: Vehicles cannot exhibit any cosmetic damage, missing pieces, or have commercial branding or taxi paint jobs.

Regional model year requirements:

  • For Virginia (VA) access: For VA access, must be 16 years old or newer
  • For District of Columbia (DC) access: For DC access, must be 10 years old or newer
  • For Maryland (MD) access: for MD access, must be 12 years old or newer

Insurance requirements:
