Pharmacy-only and prescription medicines are now available via Uber Direct. All delivery people are immediately eligible to deliver pharmacy-only and prescription medicines. Note that, fares for pharmacy deliveries will follow the same fare computations for other non-food deliveries
Here are 5 Key Steps for completing deliveries with pharmacy-only and prescription medicines
You’ll know your delivery is a pharmaceutical delivery when you see “Pharmacy” in the merchant’s name and “Package” in the top middle of the request screen in your app.
Depending on the items in the package, the front-of-store staff at the pharmacist will either provide you with the package for delivery or instruct you to collect the package directly from the pharmacist.
By law, pharmacies have to seal packages containing sensitive items. When you receive items in a sealed package, it’s important that the seal remains intact for the delivery recipient.
As pharmacy-only and prescription medicines must be delivered directly to the delivery recipient, they will receive a PIN code by SMS. To complete the delivery, you must get that PIN code from the recipient and enter it into the app.
If you cannot enter the right PIN, then the package MUST be returned to the pharmacy. Simply tap the ‘Help’ button from the trip screen and select ‘Can’t find customer’, then tap ‘Yes, return order’. This will initiate a return trip for you to take the package back to the pharmacy. You will be paid for the return trip
