How to sign up?

Signing up to drive with Uber is easy.

1. Download the app (or sign up at partners.uber.com).
2. Provide us with your documents (for example, your driver’s licence).
3. In most cities, get a vehicle inspection.
4. Get your ride share driver’s authority card (this requirement varies by state).

Document requirements vary between cities. Once we’ve reviewed your documents, we can activate your account so that you can go online and start earning.

Do I need to own a car?

In Australia, Uber driver-partners do not need to own a car; you can borrow one, or, in most cities, you can also hire a car through the Uber Marketplace. In all cases, you must be listed as an insured driver on this vehicle’s insurance policy.
