WHAT IS UBER PET?
When you accept Uber Pet trips, you allow riders to bring a pet along with them.
HOW MANY PETS CAN TRAVEL?
Uber Pet is limited to one pet per trip. If the rider has more pets, it will be left to the discretion of the driver-partner to take
them on the trip.
HOW MANY RIDERS CAN RIDE WITH UBER PET?
A maximum of two riders and one pet may ride with Uber Pet. Additional riders will be left to the discretion of the driver-partner.
WHAT TYPES OF ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED?
Uber Pet is designed for domesticated animals only. We anticipate cats and dogs to be the most frequent, but Uber Pet allows for any kind of domesticated animal to be brought on a trip at the driver-partner's discretion. Riders are fully responsible for controlling their pets while on the trip.
DO PETS NEED TO BE CAGED?
Driver-partners maintain the right to refuse animal types beyond dogs and cats and refuse animals they deem unsafe or uncontrolled.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CLEANING CHARGES?
For minor issues related to pet hair, animal odour, or typical wear-and-tear, a cleaning fee will not apply. In the case of those incidents where car cleaning is necessary (e.g. urine, faeces, vomit, damage, etc.), riders will need to pay a cleaning fee. Cleaning fees will be assessed and charged on behalf of the driver partner according to the extent of the damage.
The rider is solely responsible for the animal and its behaviour during the entire trip.
WHAT IF A RIDER HAS A PET BUT REQUESTS AN UBERX?
It will be left to the driver-partner's discretion to either continue with the trip (Uber Pet rates will not apply) or kindly ask the rider to cancel the trip and request an Uber Pet ride.
Remember, you are encouraged to accept riders with service animals (e.g. guide dogs) even on UberX. You can review Uber's community guidelines to learn more.
HOW DO I TURN UBER PET REQUESTS ON OR OFF?
Uber Pet trip requests will not be automatically turned on for all driver-partners. To turn on Uber Pet trip requests, you can use the following link. After that, you can easily turn these requests on (or back off) in the Driver Preferences section of the app.
You are encouraged to accept riders with service animals (e.g. guide dogs), even if you have chosen not to receive Uber Pet requests. You can review Uber's community guidelines to learn more.
