To drive with Uber in British Columbia, you must pass an annual background screening that includes a review of your driving record and criminal history.
To start the screening process, the following documents must be uploaded and approved:
Once your documents are uploaded and approved you should receive an email from Triton, a third-party background check provider, with instructions to start your background check. Check your spam folder in case the email was filtered out of your inbox
If you’re still having trouble locating the email from Triton or if the link contained in the email you received has expired, you’ll need to contact Triton so that they can re-send it. You can reach them by email at ubersupport@tritoncanada.ca or give them a call at 1 844 874-8667.
If you prefer to obtain your own screening, you may visit your local police department or RCMP detachment to request a Vulnerable Sector Check in person. These documents must be submitted to Uber within 365 days of their issue date. Once you have your documents, you can upload it through Uber Support to be reviewed by our team. It usually takes 5-7 business days to complete our review.
In addition to your Vulnerable Sector Check, you must provide a commercial driving record from ICBC, indicated by an “N” on the top of the document. You can request your driving record online through the ICBC website, or by visiting an ICBC driver licensing office in person. Once received, this document must be uploaded to your Documents Hub within 365 days of its issue date.
