What is Trip Radar and how does it work?

Trip Radar is a feature that shows you more trips to choose from in your area. Multiple drivers can look at trip requests at the same time and choose according to their personal preferences, such as the destination of the trip.

For example, you could use Trip Radar to:

  • Go where you want If you have somewhere to be, Trip Radar could help you get trip requests that go in a specific direction by showing you more trips and more drop off locations at one time.
  • Get going quickly If you ever feel like you don’t want to wait for your next individual, 1 to 1 trip request , open Trip Radar and take your pick from a selection of trips.

You will continue to receive individual trip offers as well as being able to use Trip Radar.

Here’s how it works:

  • When you’re not on a trip, you may see an alert for Trip Radar.
  • Tap on it to check out a selection of trip requests happening nearby.
  • You can tap these requests to indicate that you are interested.
  • Since other drivers will also have access to this list, you won’t necessarily get all of your trips you are interested in, but you can tap as many as you like.
  • By bidding on more Trip Radar offers within the Job Board, you are maximising your chances of getting assigned to a trip that meets your preferences.
  • You do not need to browse through the nearby trips if you don’t want to, though! The Trip Radar feature is there for you if you want to use it, but it is not compulsory.
  • When you are selecting trip requests on Trip Radar, you can tap as many as you like and it won’t impact your confirmation rate.
  • You will see up to five trips. Please note in times of lower rider demand you may see less than five trips.
  • When you wish to select a trip, the app will let you know if you have been successfully matched with a rider.
  • If you are not successfully matched, you will see refreshed trips within the app.

We have designed the feature to minimise distractions while out on the road. That’s why you will only see the full selection of trips when traveling under 4mph and when you are not already on a trip. When you are driving over 4mph you will see a much smaller version of Trip Radar to avoid distractions at higher speeds. We are testing out different versions to find the solution that drivers prefer to engage with.
