We are launching a pilot to enable merchants to earn additional revenue by leveraging their customer base to drive additional Eater app downloads. Merchants will act as “affiliate” partners for us in this instance whereby we pay them a “commission” for each app download.
Leveraging a third-party platform: “Impact Radius” (IR). IR is a tool that the Performance Marketing team uses to manage and run Uber’s Affiliate Marketing program globally.
Impact Radius allows us to create, manage, track, report on, and manage payouts to all affiliate partners who are registered on the platform.
For the case of this pilot, restaurants / merchants will be registering as a new partner in IR, and will be given their own, unique tracking link which they can promote on their website, in their social media, customer emails etc.
US: We will pay the merchants $10 USD per new Eater app download
Mexico: We will pay the merchants $100MXN (~$5 USD) per new Eater app download
Payments will be automated via a third party platform, “Impact Radius” - which is a tool that performance marketing uses to run and manage the global Affiliate Marketing program (provides tracking links, fraud detection, handles payouts etc.)
Every link will be unique to the restaurant (this is how we will track and manage payments automatically). Therefore we cannot include directly in the comms, but the restaurant partner will need to sign up to the platform (Impact Radius) and generate their unique tracking link. The email includes instructions on how / where to use the link.
If a merchant owns multiple venues, they will only need to sign up to the platform once. They can use the same link for all of their venues and will be paid for these in aggregate.
No it will not. All payouts to merchants will be managed via Impact Radius and not be affect current merchant reporting.
Payments will occur monthly.
