Using Custom Creatives

Using custom creative in your advertising campaigns can increase engagement and improve your conversion rate, by surfacing relevant imagery to your target audience.

In a recent Uber Eats test, restaurants that showed an image of a relevant dish in search—instead of their usual storefront photo— saw up 20% more clicks and up to 32%* more orders compared to restaurants that did not. This suggests that when customers see high-quality, relevant images of the dishes they’re searching for, they may be more likely to click and place an order.

Upload, preview, and manage your own custom ad images in the Ads Manager Creative hub. Please note, once uploaded creative approval will take up to 24hrs.

Creative Specs & Guidelines Guidelines for cover photos:

  • Margins must fill the expected dimension (2880 pixel width and 2304 pixel height)
  • Use a JPEG format with a 5:4 aspect ratio
  • Picture must be centered, leveled, and properly cropped

Acceptable Images for Uber Eats Ads:

  • Product-focused: Clear, high-quality images of the food or drink items. This helps convey what’s being offered. Example: A close-up shot of a pizza with visible, appealing toppings.
  • Proper lighting and resolution: Bright, well-lit images with high resolution. Example: A well-lit image of a bowl of noodles on a clean white background.
  • Clean backgrounds: Use simple, non-distracting backgrounds (white, neutral tones) to keep the focus on the product. Example: A fresh burger placed against a plain background, without clutter.

Not Acceptable Images for Uber Eats Ads:

  • Low-quality or blurry images: Anything underexposed, pixelated, or blurry will not be acceptable. Example: A blurry image of a sandwich with poor lighting.
  • Images with excessive text or overlays: Overloading the image with too much text, logos, or visual noise detracts from the food and user experience. Example: A food image with a large block of text covering half the image.
  • Images of non-food items or unrelated content: Ads should focus on food and drinks, so images of people, animals, or irrelevant objects can be rejected. Example: An image showing a table setting without any food or an advertisement for a non-food service.

Inappropriate or offensive content: Images that contain nudity, violence, or anything that can be deemed inappropriate. Example: An image of food that has been paired with offensive language or imagery.
