Batched trips are designed to help you make deliveries more efficiently by reducing the time you spend waiting for orders. Here’s what you need to know:
Understanding batched trips
- If another order is ready at a nearby store while you’re picking up your first order, you’ll get a notification to accept a second order.
- You can choose to accept the second order and head to the next store for pickup.
- After collecting both orders, deliver them in sequence, starting with the first order accepted.
- Complete your second delivery to finish the batched trip.
Accepting batched trips
- You always have the option to accept or decline any delivery request, including those for batched trips.
Payment for batched orders
For batched orders, your delivery fee includes:
- A flat pickup fee.
- A per-mile (or kilometer) rate calculated by the distance between pickup and dropoff locations, often based on the most efficient route.
- In some cities, a per-minute rate from the first restaurant’s arrival to the last dropoff.
- A flat dropoff fee for each order delivered.
Visit Uber.com and navigate to your city’s page for detailed rates.
Dealing with delivery delays
- If you can’t find the first customer, try calling them.
- If they don’t answer, use the app to start a countdown.
- After the timer runs out, if you’ve followed the proper steps, you’ll be paid for the first delivery without it affecting your cancellation rating and you can continue to the second delivery.
Opting out of batched trip requests
- Currently, you can’t opt out of all batched trip requests.
- You can decline any trip request, including batched trips, individually.
