Verify My Ride is a new app feature available in certain markets that requires ride code confirmation for pick-ups. When this feature is active, drivers are only able to start a trip once they have been provided with the rider’s ride code in-person.
Driver has 5 attempts to enter the PIN code provided by the rider. If the rider cannot find their PIN code, driver can enter the last 4 digits of the telephone number saved in the rider’s account.
If after these 5 attempts the PIN code entered is incorrect, the trip payment will be automatically canceled and no cancellation fee apply.
Why do I need a PIN? PINs help make sure that you pick up the right rider. Not all rides require PINs.
How do PINs work? Ask your rider for their PIN when you arrive, after confirming their name. Once the PIN is verified you can start the ride.
My rider can’t find their PIN. If the rider cannot find their PIN code, the driver can enter the last 4 digits of the telephone number saved in the rider’s account.
