What you’ll need
Before you bring smiles and satisfaction to customers, make sure you have:
- Your full name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license information
- Birth date
- Vehicle details
Vehicle requirements:
- You must be at least 19 years old
- You can drive either a 2-door or 4-door car
- Your car must be covered by valid vehicle insurance
Document uploads
- A clear, current driver’s license or photo ID
- A profile photo that looks like you
- Proof of vehicle insurance
If these documents aren’t uploaded by the deadline, you won’t be able to go online.
Uploading tips
When you’re ready to upload your documents, ensure:
- The document image is clear with all text readable
- All four corners of the document are visible in the image
- Documents are current and won’t expire soon
- Your name matches the name on your Driver profile
Note: For the driver’s license upload, a photo is required. Scanned images aren’t accepted.
Background check
Uber is committed to safety. That’s why every new delivery person must complete a background check. Here’s what you should know:
- The check is done by one or more of our third-party providers, Checkr, Samba Safety, and HireRight
- It typically takes between 3-5 business days
- Your results will be reviewed to determine your eligibility
