Vehicle insurance requirement

You are required to upload and maintain a valid vehicle insurance document on your Uber Driver account.

What details are required to show on the vehicle insurance document?

When you upload a photo or PDF of your vehicle insurance policy, please take note of the following:

• Your name must be listed as policyholder or nominated driver and it must match your name on your driver’s licence or proof of ID
• The vehicle make, model, year, and plate number must match the vehicle details stated on your vehicle registration document
• The policy type should at least be a Third Party Property Damage or Comprehensive insurance policy
• The insurance policy must be current and the period of cover should clearly show a future expiry date
• There shouldn’t be any outstanding payment or balance

Please also note that we don’t accept renewal insurance documents. If you’ve received renewal insurance, please request for a Certificate of Currency.

What is the document quality guidelines?

When you upload a document, make sure:

• the image is clear,
• all text is legible,
• all 4 corners of the document are visible,
• the images are of the original copy, and
• the information is in 1 single file (e.g. 1 image or 1 PDF). If your information is across different pages, you should merge them into a single file.
