WHAT IS HOURLY?

Hourly will allow you to book a driver partner and car by the hour to help get all your essential travels done with the same driver.

Hourly is a new product in response to COVID-19 and will be a temporary option in the Uber app for riders in Tokyo’s 23 wards.

WHERE CAN I USE HOURLY?

Hourly is currently available in Tokyo’s 23 wards.

HOW MANY PASSENGERS CAN RIDE IN THE CAR?

Maximum 4.

WHAT’S THE PRICING FOR HOURLY?

The trip will be a set rate per hour, with a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 8 hours.

Riders will be charged ¥9,000 per hour

If the actual distance traveled exceeds the standard distance, an excess charge of ¥0.467 per meter will be charged.

If the actual usage exceeds the reserved time, an excess charge of ¥1.95 per second will be charged.

HOW MANY DESTINATIONS CAN I GO TO?

There is no limit to the number of destinations for the Hourly feature.

HOW DO I REQUEST HOURLY?

Hourly is requested in two ways.

** Regular Request **

  1. Enter your first stop in the Uber app as you normally would

  2. Tap [+] to add the additional stop

  3. Choose “Hourly” as your ride

  4. Tap Confirm “Hourly.” The upfront price will be the minimum for the first hour.

  5. As the trip goes on, you’ll need to update each stop in the app, including your final stop

** Reservation **

  1. Tap “Hourly” in the Uber app
  2. Tap “Get Started” after reading the condition.
  3. Choose the length of the usage
  4. Tap “Leave Later” and choose the date and time of the reservation
  5. Tap “Choose a ride”
  6. Enter your first stop in the Uber app as you usually would
  7. Tap [+] to add the additional stop
  8. Tap “Choose Hourly”
  9. Confirm the pickup spot by adjusting the pin on the app
  10. Tap “Confirm pickup”
  11. Read all the conditions and tap ”Confirm”

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR HOURLY?

The cancellation fee will be charged as follows.

** Reservation ** ・Cancellation less than 6 hours before scheduled departure time (¥ 3,600 )

・Cancellation after scheduled departure time (after boarding) (Full amount of the usage fee based on the Hourly Rental Fee Table.)

・If the user does not board the car 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time and the car reservation request is canceled (Full amount of the usage fee based on the Hourly Rental Fee Table.)

※If you matched with the driver less than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time and canceled the request, Uber Premium Cancellation Policy will be applied

No cancellation fee will be charged when..

・ You have not matched with a driver when you cancel

・ The driver is 10 minutes or later from the scheduled departure time

・You cancel the request more than 6 hours before the scheduled departure

TIPS FOR HOURLY TRIPS

Once you’re matched with a driver-partner, please contact them to coordinate the following:

  • Where you’re going (i.e. the destination, the stops)
  • How long the trip will be (i.e. the number of hours)

If you and your driver-partner can’t come to an agreement on the trip arrangements, please cancel the trip and request a new trip with an Hourly. Please let the driver cancel the trip if the trip arrangement and communication with the driver took longer than 5 min to avoid cancellation fee.
