The financial institution might make a temporary charge for card payment. Temporary charges would not actually be charged until finalized.
If you haven’t used Uber service for a period of time, or if you’ve added a new payment method to your account, you would be billed to inquire about the validity of your card.
In addition, multiple temporary charges may be displayed on the statement until the final amount is finalized for one ride.
See temp billing examples below:
Rest assured that as soon as the final amount is finalized, you would only be charged for the actual fee, and the remaining provisional charges would be invalidated within a few days. The number of days until it becomes invalid depends on your financial institution. For confirmation, please contact the financial institution directly.
Notes for Debit Card:
The temporary bill would be displayed in Receipt on your Uber account.
