My upfront fare was not honored

Upfront fares are calculated using the expected time and distance of the trip and local traffic, as well as how many riders and nearby drivers are using Uber at that moment.

You may be charged a different amount than your upfront fare for the following reasons:

CHANGE IN DESTINATION OR PICKUP POINT
If your pickup point or destination change after you request the trip, your fare will be charged based on the time and distance of the actual trip.

CHANGE IN ROUTE
If your driver does not follow the estimated route and takes a detour, your fare may change to account for the extra distance driven.

HEAVY TRAFFIC
Heavy traffic may cause your trip to take longer than expected and to compensate your driver for the additional time, your fare may change.

If you believe this fare change happened unfairly, please let us know by going to "I would like a refund" > "My driver took a poor route" and then select the appropriate reason.

WAIT TIME CHARGES
If your driver reaches your pickup location and waits for you for more than 5 minutes, you may be charged a wait time charge which gets added to your fare.
