1. I heard Uber is removing the VIP program. Do I still have access?
UberVIP is now exclusively offered to American Express Consumer Platinum® and Centurion® Cardholders and is currently available in Atlanta, Dallas, Harrisburg, Houston, Nashville, New Jersey, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.
If you are an American Express Consumer Platinum or Centurion Cardholder, you can gain access to UberVIP by adding your Card to your Uber profile. Once added, you'll automatically have access to UberVIP.
Non-American Express Consumer Platinum and Centurion Cardholders will no longer have access to UberVIP beginning on Monday, November 19, 2018.
2. I joined Uber Rewards. Will I still have access to UberVIP through my Amex benefits?
As UberVIP is included in a program separate from Uber Rewards, you can receive benefits from both the Amex Benefit and Uber Rewards at the same time.
If you become a Diamond member of the Uber Rewards program and are also an American Express Consumer Platinum or Centurion Cardholder, you'll have access to both UberX Diamond and UberVIP. Both request types will allow you to be matched with our highly rated partners.
3. I don't have an American Express Consumer Platinum or Centurion Card. Can I still receive access to UberVIP?
At this time, UberVIP has been closed to all users outside of American Express Consumer Platinum and Centurion Cardholders.
While we understand that this may be disappointing to hear, we do have exciting news. We're currently rolling out Uber Rewards in all US cities!
With Uber Rewards, you'll be able to earn points towards benefits that will save you time and empower you to have more flexibility and control. As you earn points and progress across our member levels, you'll gain access to benefits like flexible cancellations, price protection on a route, and UberX Diamond, among others.
