Vouchers for Events FAQ

Thanks for your interest in Uber Vouchers! This voucher program has been designed to make transportation and food delivery arrangements for group events simpler and more convenient. Please review the information below if you have any questions about the program, otherwise, you can head to event.uber.com to start setting up your event vouchers.


Q: What are vouchers?
Vouchers can be used to provide riders or eaters with credit to use on the app for any event, like weddings, birthdays, conferences, and more. You can create vouchers for such events by visiting event.uber.com.

This program is currently only available in the United States. We hope to expand this offering to more cities and countries in the future.


Q: I would like to create vouchers on behalf of my organization. Is there a separate process for that?
Yes, there is a separate product for organizations and business purposes. If you sign up for Uber for Business and create vouchers, you'll enjoy higher spending and credit limits than consumer vouchers.

Q: What kind of vouchers can I create?
You can create vouchers for either rides or meals.

With rides vouchers, you can cover credit for your guests' Uber rides. You can also set restrictions on the dates (and times) that vouchers are valid, the value of the vouchers, and pickup and drop-off locations. Similarly for Uber Eats, you can restrict the amount covered by vouchers.


Q: How can I distribute vouchers?
Once your vouchers are created, you'll be able to copy the voucher link/code and share it with your guests. Guests then click the link to accept the voucher and add it to their Uber Account. Guests can also add the code directly to their Uber Account by navigating to their "Wallet" in the Uber/Uber Eats app, scrolling down to "Vouchers" and selecting "Add Voucher code". Note that these vouchers are for private distribution and personal use only. No marketing, resale, social media, or public messaging is permitted.


Q: Can I customize or restrict my event vouchers?
Yes. When creating your event voucher, you can choose how many vouchers you'd like to create and the amount you'd like each voucher to cover. For rides vouchers, you can also restrict the pickup and drop-off locations.


Q: How often will I be charged and will be I charged for unused vouchers?
Your credit card will be charged at the end of every day, based on the value of vouchers used, and there is a $3,000 credit limit for all users. You will not be charged for unused vouchers.


Q: How can I check if Uber will be available for my event?
Open the Uber app and tap Ride, then enter the pickup and dropoff locations for your event. Once you've entered that information, you can check the wait time in the app and look for car icons on the map to see how many nearby drivers may be available. We recommend performing this check in advance on the day of the week and at the time that your event is scheduled to get a sense of whether it's a busy time on the platform.
