Uber Japan Co., Ltd. shall not be subject to the regulation regarding advertisement under the Specified Commercial Transactions Act since Uber Japan Co., Ltd. falls under a travel agent prescribed in Article 6-4, paragraph (1) of the Travel Agency Act (Article 26, paragraph (1), item (viii) © of Specified Commercial Transactions Act), therefore the following is voluntarily indicated.

Service Provider:

The “Uber” ride-hailing app and web offered by Uber Japan Co., Ltd. provides the Uber Taxi service, the Uber Premier (hire car) service, and other car dispatching-related services.

In the Uber Taxi service, Uber Japan Co.Ltd executes the Arranged Tour Contract with the customer. The transportation service is not provided by Uber Japan Co, but provided by participating taxi service operators. This representation specifies information of common application for participating service providers; for individual information, please refer to the page of the respective providers.

In the Uber Premier service, Uber Japan Co.Ltd executes the Order Taking Type Organized Tour Contract with the customer. The transportation service is not provided by Uber Japan Co, but provided by participating hire car service operators and taxi companies.

Fares and Surcharges:

Fares are displayed on the payment pages for each service. Estimated prices are displayed on the payment page and settlement fares are confirmed after your ride is completed. In the case of Upfront Price, the fare is displayed in advance and will be fixed as you agreed and proceed the trip reqeust in advance and displayed on the app before you request a ride. However, please note that the fare might be changed if multiple stops are added or the destination is changed in the middle of the trip. (Please see here for details on Upfront Price.)

When you use your Renewable Membership to purchase services on the Uber Rides app with your Renewable Membership, you will be charged the price of the fares, less the discount amount available to you by your Renewable Membership.

For Uber Taxi service, additional fees, such as surcharges (travel business handling fees) and booking fees may be incurred. Please refer to the help page below for the details about the additional fees.

Communication fees, internet connection fees and other telecommunication costs for the use of the Uber app must be paid by the customer (The respective operator specifies prices). For more information, please refer to the Terms of Use.

Method and Time of Payment:

The price must be paid immediately after the provision of service by the specified payment method. You are able to select the payment method on the payment page for services.

Please note that you are unable to use LINE Pay / Pay Pay for Uber Taxi and Uber Premier services. For more information, please refer to the Terms of Use. In addition, please note that the trip request cannot proceed if your primary payment setting is unavailable for the service.

Time of Provision of Service:

The estimated pick-up time is displayed on the payment page for services. Please note that the time displayed is only the estimated time and may be different from the actual arrival time.

Special Provisions concerning Cancellation and Refund: Ride-hailing requests can be canceled at any time, but cancellation fees may be charged depending on the circumstances. For more information on cancellation fees, please refer to the help page ‘Am I charged for canceling a trip?’,‘Review my cancellation fee’, and ‘Review my fare or fees’ .
