Handling Cash Payment Issues

If you’re driving with Uber and experience cash payment issues, here’s what you need to know:

When you’re paid less than expected

  • Tap COLLECT CASH in the App.
  • Select OTHER AMOUNT and enter the amount you actually received.
  • If this option isn’t available, visit our Help Center page: I didn’t receive the full amount of money for assistance.
  • Ask the Rider if they’d like to get their change as Uber Credits in the App.
  • If the Rider agrees, press COLLECT CASH to view the simplified receipt with the collectible amount.
  • Select OTHER AMOUNT and enter the amount you actually received.
  • If the option is missing, please go to the article: I received more money for the trip for support.

When you don’t have change

  • Offer the Rider the option to get the change as Uber Credits within the App.
  • Tap “COLLECT CASH” to view a simplified receipt with the amount due.
  • Before completing the trip, select “SEE MORE”, then “OTHER”, and enter the amount you received.
  • If this option doesn’t show, please use the Help Center Page: I received more money for the trip for help.
  • This process adds credits to the Rider’s account without affecting your earnings.

Remember:

Always report the correct amount received. Inaccurate reporting can lead to restrictions on your account.

If the Rider has a promotion

  • Riders pay the discounted amount shown in their promotion.
  • Your earnings will not be impacted, as Uber will cover the discount.
  • You’ll receive the full amount that was shown when you accepted the trip.
