How do I delay an order?

If your kitchen becomes too busy, you can delay an order in Uber Eats Orders. On the order page, tap the button in the top right corner for order help.

Options to Delay Depend on the Order Status

Delivery person is NOT yet assigned to the order

  • Select “Delay order” to add additional time. You can choose to add 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes to the order’s preparation time.

Delivery person IS assigned to the order

  • Once the request has been accepted or sent, you won’t be able to update your prep time after that. A pickup request is automatically sent to a delivery person when there are 7 minutes left on the clock.

NOTE: If your kitchen finishes preparing an order early, you can tap the ready button, which will send a delivery person to your restaurant.

KEEP IN MIND

The Uber Eats Orders may also automatically pause incoming orders.

This can happen for two reasons: - Multiple orders in a row that go unaccepted - Your acceptance time is longer than usual, resulting in customers canceling orders
