Postmates FAQs

What’s Happening and Why

Why is the Postmates experience being updated?

Now that Postmates and Uber Eats have joined forces, we are updating the Postmates experience to better serve you to offer more restaurants, faster service and smarter recommendations.

What is changing about the Postmates experience?

We’re keeping everything you love about Postmates, but with a new look and feel. Plus, you’ll enjoy a wider selection of restaurants, grocery stores, and more.

When can I expect to see the changes?

We’ll be gradually rolling out the new updates to the Postmates experience over the next few months.

I don’t have an Uber Eats account, why do you think I do?

If your account information is associated with an Uber Eats account, but you don’t have one, please reach out to the Uber Eats support team to look into it.

General account information

Why do I need to log into Postmates with my Uber account?

Postmates and Uber Eats have joined forces to better serve you with more restaurants, faster service and better recommendations. Link your Postmates and Uber accounts through your Postmates app to start enjoying from this joint experience!

What if I don’t want an Uber Eats or Postmates account?

Users will receive communications from Uber asking users to link their accounts. You can opt out of linking your account, but by doing so, you will not be able to use Postmates. Users can expect to receive communications that will outline what you can expect and how to opt-out of account linking.

I’m getting an error message: “Your PM account has been linked to Uber, to continue…” What is this?

iOS: Update your app from the App Store.

Android: Update your app on the Play Store.

Will all of the restaurants available to me on Postmates be available on Uber Eats?

Yes, the merchants that were available to you previously will remain available to you on Postmates moving forward.

Many postmates merchants will move over to Uber Eats as well. Please check the Uber Eats app to check which merchants are available at this time. We are always onboarding new merchants.

If I’m blocked on one account, does that mean I’m blocked on the other?

Account bans are evaluated on case by case basis and will not always mean that a user is banned on both platforms.

Your account access may be restricted across both platforms in certain instances. However, in some situations this won’t be the case and so we always recommend attempting to log in to your account to confirm your access.

How do I log into my existing Postmates account?

To log into your Postmates account, enter the phone number you used to sign up in the app or website. You will first be asked to link your account to an existing Uber account or provided steps to create a new Uber account.

After linking you can continue to use your Postmates phone number to log in.

I changed my phone number. Can I update it on Postmates? If not, which phone number should I use to log into my Postmates account?

You can’t change your phone number on Postmates once you link your Postmates and Uber account. You should continue to use your old Postmates phone number to log into your account.

Alternatively, you can use your email to log into your account by clicking on Can’t sign in link at login screen.
